Burmese Python Care Sheet

Many people today are interested to have giant snakes. But are you really that responsible enough to take care a snake which can grow into an enormous size of 20 feet and may weigh for around 200 pounds. At first, it is really seems to be a challenge to have a giant snake but then sad to say, most people owning them just abandoned them when they turned into a huge-like monster. Owning them might be an attention to your friends but then again, it requires big responsibility not just in handling them but also in terms of finiancial support.

Burmese python is a popular trend when it comes to the captivity of lagre snakes. It is native throughout many Asian countries including Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Southern China, and Indonesia. The can be found from ground to the trees and ,love to soak theirselves in the water. Actually, they are also good swimmers. They only eat once for many days. This may somehow explain why many captivated snakes are obessed because lots of pet owners allow them to eat many things in not so long pace of time. The breeding season of Burmese python occur in every early stage of spring. From March to April, females lay their eggs  where they encircle their eggs like treasure and stay with them until they hatch.

Burmese python’s food diet are small animals such as lizards, amphibians and even small birds. However, in captivity, they are given of pre-killed mice, chicken and even rabbit.

If you want to own this kind of snake, then there are a lot of high responsibility shouldered by the owner. First is its condition, where if you are going to feed them with live mice, they can get many diseases from the parasites of the rodent which may be fatal for pythons. There is this IBD or Inclusion Body Disease which affects mainly to boas and pythons. When buying your own Burmese python from a pet store, that doesn’t guarantee at all that the snake you are going to buy is unexposed from such disease. First thing you should do about this is take a look closely to the snake. Observing them with full attention can have a bit assurance that the snake is purely safe from IBD. You don’t want to waste your money from unhealthy python right?

When having you own snake, you must have a proper enclosure for it. It must be big enough for the snake to live in. For their hiding place, a broken log might do. The temperature is one thing also which you should consider. During the day, temperature must be maintain from 85-88F while 90F during the night. The proper range of temperature can make your snake healthy. In terms of feeding,  hatchlings may require small pre-killed rat. As it grows longer, then the food it eats should be in bigger size also. As other animals, you must provide a clean bowl of water all the time. The snake may want to soak itself there or even frink it up. As on of the basic neccesities, veterinary care for your snake is essential. From there on, your snake can acquire proper threatment with the parasites infesting him.

As of now, there are many cases release by the press about the deaths of many python owners. Mainly reason for the said event will be the improper care of the pet masters. So before you buy, you must really consider the following things above. Having a giant snake in your house is so expensive and will really cost you a lot.
