This morning I got up and was feeding my leopard geckos, so I decided to that i would right a quick enclosure setup guide.

My setups are very simple. Each one of my leopard geckos has there own tank. My tank setup includes substrate, hide, and water. I use the calcium sand that can be found at Petsmart. I use the purple kind, because that is what my wife thinks is pretty. You can use what ever color you want though. One medium bag will fill up a ten gallon tank.

As for the hide, I stay cheap. I use a small snake hide from Petsmart also. These range from $5 – $10 bucks. The water bowl is the easiest. You can use any shallow bowl that you have at your house.

Now here is the reason I stay so cheap. I like to get fancy leopard geckos. My favorite is the Blizzard leopard gecko. You can get them pretty cheap at reptile shows.   :)

  • This is a great show! Canada has some great breeders and I can not wait to get up there to the show next year. I am not much into the fish world but that was cool. I could not imagine having a stingray in my house.

The short tailed opossums are cool pets too. I checked out Short Tailed Opossum Site.
